Alter-G Names New CEO

MENLO PARK, Calif., Nov 12, 2007 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/
Alter-G, Inc., developers of the G-Trainer anti-gravity treadmill, today announced that Lars Barfod has been named as the company's President and CEO. Barfod will also serve as a member of the board of directors.

Barfod is a seasoned health care, pharmaceutical, and life sciences executive with significant global experience. He joins Alter-G after being President and CEO for Elsevier MDL, the leading global provider of enterprise software and database solutions for life sciences research, where he led the recent divestment to Symyx Technologies Inc. Barfod has also held senior executive positions at Genentech, Novo Nordisk, and Deltagen and has worked in Denmark, Japan, and the United States. Barfod holds a master's of science degree from the Royal University in Copenhagen, Denmark.

"The board feels fortunate and excited that Lars has agreed to join the company," said Bill Potts, Alter-G board member and former President of Precor USA. "He has successfully managed small and large global companies through rapid growth, secured private and IPO financing, and has developed sustainable customer relationships."

"I'm thrilled to join Alter-G and want to thank Steve Rothenberg for his significant achievements as the interim CEO during the search process," said Barfod. "I believe Alter-G's technology offers significant market potential in performance athletics, fitness, physical therapy, and rehabilitation. Professional athletic organizations from basketball and football to professional distance running, as well as physical therapy and rehabilitation centers, have already embraced the G-trainer with enthusiasm. I look forward to making Alter-G the leading brand in this sector."
